This is a UPLC-MS availible for use for CBH-FPT.
During the days it is operated as a walkup instrument on a first come first serve basis with a 30 min per user concurrent use limit. During the nights the instrument is booked using LIMS.
Daytime: 09-16
Nighttime: 16-09
The instrument is normally equipped with a BEH 2.1x100 C18 column with a UV-VIS and MS detector in the flow path. Other columns as well as a RI detector is availible for night booking after a special training since the user then has to physically reconnect the instrument.
The normal training is hosted biannually at the beginning of autum and spring (september and january if responsible is availible). The special training is hosted on request, providing information as to why the standard setup won´t work.
This instrument is heavilly dependent on sample preparation to not break. Polymers and polymer degradation products must have a MW below 3 kDa and have been filtered through a filter with such a cutoff before injection. Normal samples need to have been filtered through a 0.22 uM filter unless a special agreement has been reached with Erik. Vials must have pre-slit caps to not plug the sample changer.
Please email ersund@kth.se if you experience hardware problems with the instrument or if something broke.
Failure to provide correctlly prepared samples will result in a 6 month suspension from using the instrument as well as possible liability to pay for replacement parts.
